Autumn in New York

Naughty monkey eating leaves

Thanksgiving weekend brought sunshine and temperatures unheard of in October. The tradition of eating the late harvest, driving into nature and spending time with family is one that we bought into wholeheartedly when we moved to Canada. This year, with a local free-range turkey, an organic duck that we picked up at a farm in Montreal and some gorgeous home-made cranberry sauce, not to mention enough root vegetables and squash to feed an army, it was impossible to go hungry.

We drove to Great Valley, New York, to spend the weekend with my parents. October is a perfect time of year to visit Canada or the North-eastern US. The display of foliage is simply unrivaled, and with temperatures up in the 20s, we certainly had nothing to complain about.
