If I didn’t have children I’m not sure that I would be as aware of the speed with which days fly by, but here we are: Charlie turned one on Saturday, she can walk and is finally growing teeth. April starts pre-K on Wednesday and can read simple words. Now that I think of it, we’ve been back in Montreal for almost as long as we were away. Life continues apace, and I’m not sure I can keep up!
Josh and I are somehow making things work although neither of us is what you might call “gainfully employed.” My goals for the fall:
- Finish writing the book (you know, the one about our road trip when April was a baby)
- Write articles about issues that are important to me
- Get back on the yoga mat
- Sleep more
- Try to enjoy every day (or remind myself that if today is horrible, tomorrow will be better)
So despite the humidity, the virus that has infiltrated my home and the nagging exhaustion, I will take a deep breath, eat some delicious figs and enjoy looking through photographs from the summer.
